Experience alpine adventures at beautiful East Rosebud Lake, one of the most unique and picturesque settings in the Rocky Mountains.

Relax and renew in a modern log cabin and enjoy the pristine alpine setting for 6 days and nights.  Grow your paddle boarding skills at our convenient lakefront location.  Each day you will enjoy fresh healthy meals and guided morning activities including Yoga, Paddle Boarding and SUP Yoga. Afternoons will include free time and optional special activities such as paddle boarding on a tranquil section of east Rosebud Creek, Kayaking, Canoeing, Hiking or a trip to the nearby towns of Roscoe or Red Lodge. Share stories with Montana locals during a fireside chat.

All paddle boarding and yoga equipment is provided on-site. Other on-site equipment includes kayaks, a canoe, mountain bikes and the cabin sauna.

About the area:

East Rosebud Lake is nestled in a classic glacially carved valley at an elevation of 6,200 feet,  which is rimmed with cabins forming the historic private town of Alpine, Montana. Awesome peaks of the Beartooth Range, rise from the lake to elevations over 10,000 feet and Granite Peak, the highest point in Montana, is just beyond the horizon. Several wildnerness trails originate at the lake which has been classified as one of the most pristine surface waters in Montana.

East Rosebud Lake is located approximately 45 miles south of Columbus Montana, and 35 miles west of Red Lodge, Montana. The final 14 miles to the lake from Roscoe, Montana, consists of both paved and well maintained yet rugged unpaved roadway sections. The nearest airport in Billings is approximately 2 hours by car.

About the hosts

John Bridenbaugh

John is a native of Montana and has extensively explored the many adventures that the East Rosebud Lake area has to offer. He is an expert guide in paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, hiking and the flora and fauna of the Beartooth Range.

As a retired engineer, John has devoted summers to growing the family small-business, Altitude Paddleboards.  He leads paddle boarding activities and manages the retail sales out of the shop.  During the winter,  he enjoys California and Central America surfing expeditions and is honored to continue in his fourth season completing missions as a member of the Winter Park Ski Patrol.


Nancy Bridenbaugh

Nancy is the co-owner of Altitude Paddleboards and is PaddleFit Pro certified.  She enjoys teaching all levels of paddle boarding.  With a career in Deaf Education, Nancy enjoys sharing her passion with deaf groups.

In 2016, Nancy expanded on her passion for yoga and completed a 200 hr. Yoga Teacher certification and SUP Yoga certification.  She enjoys sharing her love of yoga with others, especially outdoors and on the water.

Nancy has always had a love for water sports and has been involved in swimming, water polo, surfing and whitewater rafting and kayaking, where she met her husband, John.  They were engaged while kayaking the Grand Canyon and have continued their adventures together for over 30 years, including annual trips to the East Rosebud Lake cabin.
